Croatian Language Classes

"Language is not simply a means of communication, it is part of the identity of every person as an individual. Learning to speak Croatian outside the homeland is of great importance, as this is a primary way to preserve our own identity. This programme, to teach Croatian as a language in British Columbia, is a promising step forward for future generations of the Croatian identity.”

Learn to Speak Croatian

The United Croats of Canada, King Tomislav Branch offers Croatian language courses at three different levels (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced) at the Croatian Cultural Center. The courses are open to high school students and adults who have no prior knowledge of Croatian, have a basic understanding of the language, or simply want to delve deeper into Croatian language and culture.
The lessons will cover listening, reading, writing, and speaking exercises to help students build a strong foundation in grammar, and communication skills in Croatian. These in-person courses will consist of weekly classes and will be taught by native Croatian speakers with university degrees in Language and Literature, and extensive experience in teaching Croatian as a second language. All learning materials will be provided.
