United Croats of Canada, King Tomislav
The United Croats of Canada, King Tomislav is a non-profit charitable society who own and operate the Croatian Cultural Centre in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Society was founded in 1957 by Croatian immigrants with the purpose of advancing education by increasing public knowledge and appreciation of Croatian art, literature, culture, language, and traditions.
The United Croats of Canada, King Tomislav offer regular Croatian language and folklore classes as well as partner with other organizations to further our purpose of preserving and educating the Croatian tapestry.
Croatian Canadian Chamber of Commerce - BC Chapter
Founded in 1995, the Canadian-Croatian Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit network of Croatian-Canadian businesses, professionals and organizations that has emerged as the voice of Croatian-Canadian business in Canada. The Chamber brings together businesses, professionals, and organizations with strategic relationships (economic, commercial, political, and cultural) in both Canada and Croatia.
Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish
Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, founded in 1961, is the local Roman Catholic Croatian Church. Hosting weekly Mass in both the Croatian and English languages, the Immaculate Heart of Mary also offers all other religious services including baptisms, weddings, and funerals; they also run the children’s Catechism and PREP for grades K-7.
Tamburica Orchestra Kardinal Stepinac Society
Tamburica Orchestra Kardinal Stepinac Society was founded in 1983 to preserve and promote Croatian culture by teaching people to play the tamburica, Croatia's national instrument. Since then, the Society has evolved into a comprehensive folklore ensemble, adding traditional dance and Klapa a cappella singing and offers a structured tamburica school with three progressive levels.
The Society of Friends of Matica Hrvatska of British Columbia
The Society of Friends of Matica Hrvatska of British Columbia promotes the preservation of Croatian literary works, language, traditions and culture. The Society operates a public library of Croatian literature in the Croatian Cultural Centre and regularly hosts guest literary speakers from Croatia.
